Made-to-Order Wedding Dresses in Tokyo | Dress Curre Kuramae Q&A

In short: if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind, made-to-order style wedding dress in Tokyo, Dress Curre in Kuramae is worth knowing. Unlike mass-produced rentals, every dress is unique. The atelier also shares a building with Libars, the photography brand, so fitting and shooting happen in one place without dealing with two separate companies. Here are the questions we hear most often.

About our contact channels

Dress Curre (dress fitting and rental) and Libars (photography) are two separate brands in the same building, each with its own contact channel. For dresses, message Dress Curre on LINE; for photography, message Libars. Not sure which to contact? Just mention it and we will connect you to the right team.

The first things people wonder about

  • The difference between made-to-order and one-of-a-kind, and which Dress Curre is
  • Whether you can book a fitting only, and what it costs in-store vs. by mail
  • Who to contact when you want both the dress and the photo shoot
  • Real messages from actual clients (from our LINE)

Q. Can I find a made-to-order wedding dress in Tokyo?

Yes. But made-to-order covers two things: fully custom-tailored dresses, and one-of-a-kind dresses you choose from. Dress Curre is the latter. These are unique pieces that will never clash in size or design with mass rentals. If you want fully custom tailoring, tell us and we will advise on what is possible.

The Kuramae atelier shares a building (completed June 2024, designed by SHIRAI ARCHITECTS) with Libars Tokyo, so the dress salon and the photo base are literally in the same place.

Q. Can I book a fitting only?

Yes. You can come just to find your dress. Booking a shoot is not required. There are two ways to fit, with slightly different terms.

Fitting Fee (tax incl.) Terms
In-store 3,300 yen per person Deducted from your rental fee when you book (effectively free)
By mail (for those far away) 3,300 yen Not eligible for the deduction. May take a few days depending on reservations
Menswear (by mail) 3,300 yen Same mail fitting available for suits

Q. Can the groom get his outfit at Dress Curre too?

Yes. Dress Curre carries menswear, and mail fitting costs the same 3,300 yen (tax incl.). Because the dress and the suit can be chosen side by side in one place, you can check how your colors work together at the fitting stage, not on the shoot day.

Q. Is there a bring-your-own-dress fee?

Libars charges no outfit fee. With Dress Curre dresses, fitting and rental fees are quoted upfront as a set, with no surprise costs after signing.

Q. Can I book the shoot and the dress together?

Yes, but contracts and payments are split between the two brands: photography is paid to Libars, dress fitting and rental to Dress Curre. The flow looks like this:

  1. Contact Libars about your shoot date and area, and receive a quote
  2. Contact Dress Curre directly to book a fitting
  3. Pay Dress Curre for the dress, Libars for the shoot
  4. On the day, hair and makeup, changing and departure all happen at the same Kuramae atelier

Two contacts, one place on the day.

Q. How is Dress Curre rated?

Dress Curre holds a 5.0-star Google Business rating (as of July 2026). Libars, the photography side, is rated 4.9 stars with 87 reviews on Photorait.

Some clients choose color. A navy one-of-a-kind next to a suit lifts them both; outdoors, lavender and mint stand out gently against the scenery.

Night streets work too. This one is a model shoot: a white dress with a leather jacket in the neon streets shows just how far the range goes.

Q. Any media or celebrity credits?

Yes. The whip tail dress appeared in the SCENE FIT DRESS Collection of the Zexy June issue (published April 23, 2026), the leading wedding magazine in Japan. Musical actress Nana Takano also wore the sheer puff sleeve dress as her main costume in her solo concert GIFT (Tokyo and Hiroshima).

Common questions about the dress and the shoot

Q. What is the difference between made-to-order and one-of-a-kind?

A. Made-to-order is tailored from your measurements; one-of-a-kind means choosing your own piece from finished unique dresses. Dress Curre focuses on the latter, so sizes and designs never overlap with mass rentals. Ask in advance if you want full tailoring.

Q. Can I just do a fitting?

A. Yes. Fittings alone are welcome. In-store is 3,300 yen per person (deducted from rental when you book); mail fitting is 3,300 yen (no deduction).

Q. Can I arrange the shoot and dress as a set?

A. Yes, though contracts are separate: Libars for photography, Dress Curre for the dress. Book your shoot with Libars and your fitting directly with Dress Curre. On the day, everything happens at the same atelier in Kuramae.

Q. Is there an outfit fee?

A. No. Libars charges no bring-your-own fee, and Curre pricing is quoted upfront, so nothing unexpected appears after signing.

Q. I live outside Tokyo (or Japan). Can I still do this?

A. Yes. Mail fitting (3,300 yen) lets you check sizing at home, and Libars shoots on location across Japan from bases in Tokyo and Fukuoka.

Q. Can the groom rent just a suit?

A. Yes, menswear is available with 3,300 yen mail fitting. We recommend choosing together with the dress so your colors match on the day.
